This is what I wondered at today, this is what I loved

how sun-colored poppies
grow in the arms of the streetcar tracks:
thick and heedless

seeing a man button a statue into a dress,
carry her over his shoulder into a hip-deep fountain and
leave her standing peacefully there
(in this square of murky green water)
in the middle of the financial district,

one hand steadying the bowl on her head.

"in the arms of the streetcar tracks" - nice.

And I like how you get us to wonder, too.

That creates some very interesting, beautiful, and peculiar images in my mind... :)

Thank you, all, very much.

Sherry and Danielle - Excellent. That is just what I would like it to do.

Q - Yes! I saw the statue bit with my own eyes at lunch downtown with my papa.

That totally doubles the coolness factor. And as always, it is just lovely.
